Today was an interesting commute, indeed. First off, I picked up the FoST from the shop...it’s finally whole! I’ll have a write up on that process sometime soon.

The commute itself, oh goodness I wish I had set-up my dashcam (it arrived while the car was in the shop) because there were a half dozen close calls ahead of me today. One instance was a situation of “who is worse and won’t check during lane changes...a Prius or BMW?” Answer was: both. All other close calls had to do with this vehicle:

Kinja'd!!!

A guy in a red Honda Del Sol.

If you are reading this, sir, please know that I am being as sincere as possible when I say FUCK YOU . This asshole was the definition of aggressive driving, cutting people off, flipping them off and gesturing wildly through his window and roof, riding the dotted lines, tailgating, flipping the fuck out when someone dared pass him in the passing lane. I kept my distance because it could only end poorly.

Audi’s blue for the latest A4 is gorgeous.

An old, silver Mazda6 had an excessive amount of fake vents, hood and side speed holes. Maybe they were covering or distracting from the rust holes...

The highlight of my drive was this:

Kinja'd!!!

Similar at least. The one I saw was definitely a 60’s GT350h. I tossed him a thumbs up through my sun roof that I hope was seen. Have never seen one before so I’m glad I got that out of the way.

What did you see on your drive today?

holy shit, yesterday I had a douche in a lawn mower Honda Civic nearly wreck a dump truck. The dump truck is turning left in the left only lane. The fart canner comes up in the middle and cuts to the left at the last second. He then proceeds to tailgate the shit out of the explorer infront of him. Fuck that guy, demo derby to the death with the Del Sol

Some guy in a rusty NA loving life.

Kinja'd!!!

Top down, loud exhaust and 4-5k rpms off every light … you could just tell he was happy.

Some douchenozzle in a new Range Rover rode my ass all the way to 20mph over the limit. Also tried to ride my ass on the on-ramp and couldn’t because he weighs 2,000 pounds more. I merged and never saw him again, see ya!

EDIT: Des sol driver is probably just mad at the world because he drives a del sol.

My dashcam arrives Monday, and I look forward to creating and posting “idiot drivers of MetroWest Boston” videos.

Nothing crazy on my commute today. Actually, one good thing. There’s an intersection in Sudbury center that’s always what my phone would call a cluster duck. They’re doing construction, which usually makes it worse. But today, they had one section of road closed off and two cops directing traffic. These guys were GOOD. Seriously. Traffic moved through the intersection far more smoothly than normal, even with the closure.

I still do a double take anytime a cop tells me to run a red light.

Yesterday stupid truck drivers kept turning left and blocking the intersection with their trailers. It was really fucking annoying to wait through an entire green light only to have the trailer moved once it was read twice in a row. Wish the cops would so something instead of standing there staring at me.

I need a louder exhaust on my Miata. Or I have to play no music at all while driving because I cant really hear it very much until I get over 5k. I enjoy doing that but its not very good for my fuel economy lol.

Well I saw lots of trees. My commute is only like 8 miles through county roads with minimal traffic. Always top down no matter what and occasionally I have to pass a slow moving dump truck. I enjoy getting to pass people, always feels exciting since I could never accomplish that in my civic. The go pedal was just a suggestion and the transmission was a safety nanny of its own.

I don’t care if humanity as a whole ismore intelligent (like studies show), the astounding lack of common sense is troubling.

Related: my brother sent me a snapchat the other day...he drove by a Fuddrucker’s and crossed it out, writing “Buttfuckers” instead.

haha. I blame all these reality TV shows. I feel like that is a huge drain on society.

I stopped watching tv (for the most part) and instead let video gaming be the cause of my ineptitude.

yea i usually go to GTA over TV. u do rocking climbing right? do you know anywhere around the south shore that would be good for a day hike? i’d like the most difficult thing you can do without any climbing gear. any ideas? the closest place that comes to mind is Blue hills but that can be done in like an hour tops and isn;t very challenging (that trails I know of anyway)

Well yeah I can save a couple miles and time if I take the highway but its dead straight, has some traffic, and some unavoidable traffic lights. So I generally take the "long" way home.

I’m not really knowledgeable about trails for hiking or anything (and actually haven’t even gotten to climb outside more than once this year) but Blue Hills has the most potential. There are trails that are actually kind of long. You can kinda make it up as you go, at least. Haven’t done them for a while but when I was in high school I did most of the advanced loop .

Other than that it’s just state parks that you kinda just walk around.

o well. A buddy wants to go hiking but I’d like to do something a bit more than just a walk in the woods
